Terms of Use

1. What Lumiden is, and is not

Lumiden is a companion app for people who have been prescribed GLP-1 medications. It helps you plan injections, log how you feel, and think things through with an AI companion. Lumiden is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and is not a substitute for a licensed healthcare provider. Our Medical Disclaimer is part of these Terms. If anything in the Service ever appears to conflict with what your prescriber has told you, follow your prescriber.

In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. Do not use the Service.

2. Who may use Lumiden

You must be at least 17 years old to use the Service, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live (or have a parent or guardian agree to these Terms for you). 17 You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Information you enter about your health should be your own.

3. Your license to use the app

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Lumiden app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, as permitted by the App Store terms. The Service, including its design, text, graphics, the Linden character, and software, belongs to Lumiden or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property law. These Terms do not give you any right to our trademarks.

Content you enter into the app (logs, notes, chat messages) is yours. You give us the limited permission needed to process it as the Privacy Policy describes, and nothing more.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for anyone's medical care, or present its output as medical advice
• Reverse engineer, copy, resell, or scrape the Service, or use it to build a competing product
• Probe or breach its security, interfere with its operation, or access another person's account or data
• Use the AI chat to generate content that is unlawful or that attempts to defeat its safety rails
• Misrepresent your eligibility for any discount program (see Section 6)
• Use the Service in violation of any applicable law

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Subscriptions, purchases, and auto-renewal

Lumiden offers a free tier plus paid options, purchased through Apple's App Store:

• Premium Monthly: $5.99 per month, auto-renewing
• Premium Annual: $59.99 per year, auto-renewing
• Hero Annual: $34.99 per year, auto-renewing, available only to verified Hero program members (see Section 6)
• Founders Lifetime: $149.99, a one-time purchase, offered to a limited group of early Hero members

Companion Monthly at $5.99 per month, Companion Annual at $59.99 per year, Hero Annual at $34.99 per year for verified teachers, nurses, veterans and first responders, and Founders Lifetime at $149.99 as a one-time purchase limited to the first 500 Hero members. Prices shown are United States prices and may differ by territory.

How auto-renewal works

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings (Settings, your name, Subscriptions) at any time. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep access through the end of the period already paid for.
• Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• If we raise a subscription price, Apple will notify you in advance and, where required, ask for your consent before the new price applies.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store terms. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
• If a free trial or introductory offer is available, any unused portion is forfeited when you buy a subscription. A 7 day free trial is available on Companion Monthly, Companion Annual, and Hero Annual. The trial is offered once per Apple ID. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the subscription begins and your Apple ID is charged. Any unused portion of a trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.

The free tier's current features are here to stay, though the exact feature set of any tier may evolve over time.

6. Hero program self-certification

The Hero program offers discounted pricing to people in eligible service roles teachers, nurses, veterans, and first responders. When you apply, you certify that the role you attest to is accurate and current, and you agree to provide reasonable verification if we ask for it. If a certification turns out to be false, we may remove the discount, convert the subscription to standard pricing at the next renewal, or suspend the account. Hero pricing is personal to you and may not be shared or transferred.

7. The AI companion

The chat companion generates responses with a large language model. It can be wrong, incomplete, or generic, and it does not know your medical history beyond what you have chosen to share in the app. Its responses are general information, never medical advice, and you should not rely on them for decisions about your medication or health. Certain messages describing emergencies receive a pre-written response that points to emergency resources instead of an AI reply. Chat availability may be limited by daily usage caps on some tiers.

8. Affiliate links and third-party services

Some links in the Service, mainly in the Cost Guide, are affiliate links, and Lumiden may earn a commission if you enroll or buy through them, at no extra cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure. Third-party sites and programs you reach through the Service have their own terms and privacy practices; we are not responsible for them, and a link is not an endorsement of a partner's medical or commercial claims.

9. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We may add, change, or remove features, and may discontinue the Service with reasonable notice. If we make a material change to these Terms, we will post the updated Terms here, update the effective date, and notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, Sections 11 through 15 survive. Termination does not entitle you to a refund from us; Apple's refund policies govern purchases.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY INFORMATION IT PROVIDES, INCLUDING AI CHAT RESPONSES, IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITS ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUMIDEN AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR FIFTY DOLLARS ($50). NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Lumiden harmless from claims and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Apple-specific terms

Because the app is distributed through Apple's App Store:

• These Terms are between you and Lumiden, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
• If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
• Lumiden, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and consumer protection claims.
• In the event of a third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual-property rights, Lumiden, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo and are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
• You must also comply with any applicable third-party terms (for example, your wireless data agreement) when using the app.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at hello@lumiden.app and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Brevard County, Florida, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may instead bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Medical Disclaimer, and the Affiliate Disclosure are the entire agreement between you and Lumiden about the Service. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
